The first of March is the meteorological beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere. The Earth is awakening and new fresh growth and life is occurring everywhere.
This is why Spring is associated with cleaning and creating new from the old. By cleaning, de-cluttering and clearing, you have a fresh and/or new start to what ever you have put your attention.
Just like a room in your house, your mind can also use a spring-cleaning. It can use a pick me up and renewed energy to help you function with clarity and less stress and worry.
Here are 4 ways that will help you with this process.
1. Breathe fresh air
Take advantage of the warmer, sunnier days and go outside and breathe deeply for several minutes. Visualize the old energy leaving with each exhale and receive new vibrant energy with each inhale. Also open the windows of your home and let it breathe too. The air gets stagnant over the winter and collects pollutants and stale, depleted energy. This one point alone, can improve the quality of your mind, body and spirit at any time!
2. Write or record what you want to remember
In today’s fast-paced world you have so much to remember and keep track of. The more you can get it out of your head and store the information in a place where you can access it when needed or wanted, the less that’s clogging up your mind. Use technology, make lists, take photos, and use anything else that will help so you don’t have to add the extra worry into your head about possibly forgetting.
3. Get more sleep
Sleep and dreaming help to naturally clear your mind and give you perspective. Even naps help. Remember the saying, ” Things always look better after a good nights sleep.”
4. Be more active
Activity naturally releases stress and calms emotions. The less stress and worry, the less burden on your mental energy and resources.
By using one or all of these methods, you will be on your way to clearer thinking, less stress and worry, more creativity and productivity, and a brighter outlook on life.
Have a joyous Springtime!
